Buhari Should Not Provoke Us To Civil War – Nnamdi Kanu

Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra ( IPOB) , Nnamdi Kanu has advised President Muhammadu Buhari against provoking another civil war in Nigeria by threatening to deal with freedom fighters as terrorists. Kanu who gave the advice yesterday in Umuahia was reacting to Buhari’s recent broadcast and Tuesday’s alleged directive to security chiefs to handle the agitations for self-determination the same way as Boko Haram and herdsmen menace.

The IPOB Leader argued that it was illogical for Buhari to group Biafran agitators with a global terror organisations like Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen. Kanu advised Buhari to rather concentrate efforts on governance and how to take Nigeria out of economic recession instead of issuing threats to intimidate genuine agitators.

He said Buhari should emulate former US President, Dwight Eisenhower who was a former military commander but turned a democrat when he was voted into power. His words: “The directive to service chiefs to clamp down on IPOB is a continuation of the Buhari’s dictatorial and undemocratic approach to governance. I find it unacceptable, abhorrent, and insulting that somebody elected by the people can turn around to dictate to them. Buhari was elected to govern Nigeria; he should get on with the business of governance and not try to instigate another war.”

Kanu, however, said IPOB would not be forced to take up arms no matter the provocation. “We have refused to be provoked to arms rebellion. That is what Buhari is looking for. Buhari wants a war but we won’t oblige him because we are civilised people. We are democrats at heart by nature and by essence.”

He however, said that no amount of threat or intimidation would make him give up the struggles for Biafra autonomy because it is a genuine cause. He challenged Buhari to defeat advocates of self -determination with superior arguments on why Nigeria should continue as one indivisible country instead of thinking he could cow them into submission by force.

“This notion and idea that we can intimidate them or bang them into submission does not work with Nnamdi Kanu. I only respond to reason and logic. I am not scared by threats. Defeat me with superior arguments not with the force of arms because it won’t work with me. Nigeria never defeated Biafra. Britain and other devilish powers did. Nigeria can never defeat Biafra.”

Kanu accused Buhari of hypocrisy by supporting the independence bid of Palestine and Western Sahara on the one hand while clamping down on Biafran agitators on the other. His words: “How come Buhari is supporting Palestinian self-determination, Western Sahara self-determination but wants Biafrans to be killed? That is sheer monumental hypocrisy. I want everybody liberated – Yoruba, Igbo, Jukun, Ijaw, Ibibio, etc. Convince me why Nigeria is a better option using sensible reasonable argument and not threats”.

Kanu further maintained that IPOB is a non- violent organisation which does not justifiably deserve equal treatment with Boko Haram and herdsmen which have taken up arms against the people.

According to Kanu, “We are not armed and we can never be armed. IPOB has done a lot to free other ethnic nationalities from the Caliphate’s bondage of retrogression and economic emasculation. Other ethnic nationalities should be grateful to IPOB for giving them the courage and the heart to speak up and say they are not slaves.

“We are not afraid because IPOB is a peaceful mass movement and not a violent arms group. IPOB is a non-violent peaceful mass movement. There is no recorded event of an injury being sustained in any of the numerous IPOB gatherings. People converge in their millions to listen to this gospel of the restoration of Biafra.

“We are the most disciplined; most well- behaved mass movement anywhere on the face of the earth despite the genocidal killings, arbitrary arrests, illegal detentions without trial.

Kanu provided explanations on the formation of the Biafra Security Services (BSS), saying the secret police was set up to gather intel
ligence and not to bear arms contrary to some media reports. According to him, BSS was basically inaugurated to gather intelligence about the October 1 quit notice to Igbo living in the North; and to also defend communities in Biafra land against herdsmen invasion.

He vehemently denied setting up any army contrary to speculations, dismissing it as a fabrication of media outfits to attract readership and wider patronage. Kanu also said it was a ploy by the enemies to justify their plot to use crude force against peaceful agitators.

“No army was set up. Forget the distortions you see in the media. They only do so to attract traffic. What we have is only BSS set up to give us intelligence regarding the October 1 quit notice to Ndigbo living in the North. We are students of history. The same thing happened in 1966. No adequate arrangements were made to cater for the safe return of our people from the North and as a result, hundreds of thousands of people were massacred.

“All that IPOB is trying to do is to avoid the reoccurrence of the 1966 genocidal massacre of innocent Igbo men, women and children in the North. It is to prevent the menace of Fulani herdsmen which Buhari cleverly avoided to mention during his broadcast because they are his kinsmen. This means that he supports the killings of innocent people by herdsmen as a way of expanding their Islamic domination agenda.

“The majority of our people across South South and South East support what IPOB is doing. They also support the formation of BSS that will take care of this land in terms of its security needs. Attacks by the rampaging Hausa/ Fulani herdsmen will be a thing of the past. We can no longer allow it to go on.”
“ People talk about BSS as if it is something new. They have the Shariah police in the North, they also have the Hisbah police in the North answerable to Islamic courts. In the West they have OPC but here in the South East we have nothing. Why is it that when I want to safeguard the interest of Biafra, they begin to kick against it?”

Asked how BSS would confront the rampaging herdsmen since the former is not armed, Kanu said “We don’t need arms to disarm people who are carrying guns; we know the terrains of our villages better than they”.

Continuing he said: “We shall disarm them and stop them from rampaging and invading our communities. I don’t want some ethnic bigots occupying the corridors of power to provoke us into arms confrontation by sending troops masquerading as herdsmen to come and attack Biafra land.

JAMB Fixes Cut Off Marks For Nigerian Universities, Polytechnics And College Of Education

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has fixed minimum cut off marks for Nigeria’s tertiary institutions.
The minimum cut off marks for admissions into universities in Nigeria was set for 120, polytechnics and colleges of education pegged at 100, while that of innovative enterprising institutes was pegged at 110.
Institutions are, however, at liberty to raise their cut off marks for admission above the minimum set by JAMB.

Also, admissions into public degree awarding institutions for the 2017 UTME examination will end on January 15, 2018 while for private institutions, it ends on January 31, 2018.
Also, decisions on first choice candidates by universities will end on October 15, and second choice candidates will end on December 15; after which the remaining students will be available in the market place for other institutions till the January closing dates.

These decisions were taken at the 2017 Combined Policy Meetings on Admissions into Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria which ended on Tuesday. The Registrar of JAMB, Ishaq Oloyede, said a Central Admission Processing System, CAPS, will be used to streamline admission processes among institutions, as it addresses challenges associated with the former approach.

Mr. Oloyede also said that Institutions could conduct dual mode system which involves both manual and the newly introduced CAPS.
He advocated a dynamic educational policy as related to admissions.

“All over the world, there is agitation for dynamic educational policy,” he said. “JAMB only admits for National Diploma, not Higher National Diploma; so why should we use the same requirement for ND and BSC, that is unreasonable parity.”

“We should not be sentimental in fixing our cut off mark; we need not over-dramatise issue of cut off mark.” He said candidates’ applications to study agriculture was very low while applications to study medicine and health sciences increased. Speaking on illegal admissions, he said the process is now automated because the Registrar of JAMB must approve all candidates.

“About 17,160 students were admitted without JAMB across institutions in Nigeria,” he said.
The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, also formerly announced a lift of the ban on the conduct of Post-UTME examination as a prerequisite for admission into tertiary institutions. “Cancellation of Post- UTME is a mistake,” he said.

He noted that banning of post-UTME led to a lot of irregularities by candidates and some institutions. The minister explained that with the lifting of the ban on the conduct of the examination, institutions are now at liberty to conduct, while adding that fee for the examination should not exceed N2000.

He explained that the 2016 admission process was a huge success, while expressing optimism that government is working assiduously to make that of 2017 better.
Mr. Adamu noted that government is also making efforts to expand access and ensure equality in the education sector.

He expressed optimism that a substantial number of candidates who sat for the 2017 UTME would gain admission into tertiary institution. “Over 1.6 million candidates applied for degree courses, over 17,000 for ND as well as NCE,” he said.

1:The Serial Dater:
“The serial dater is exactly what she sounds like, she’s a glass-half-full kinda gal, she always gives people the benefit of the doubt, hoping each man she meets will be better than the last she dates guy after guy, thinking that each one is better than the last and relentlessly tries to mould men into her concept of a perfect partner, she falls for every guy she dates, yet consistently complains about being single”.

2: The skeptic:
“This “single” is afraid of her own shadow, the second that someone expresses any type of interest, she immediately thinks there’s a “catch.” She trusts no one, therefore her relationships are often short-lived and insignificant”.

3: The lonely soul:
“This girl has been single for a long stretch but does not enjoy it, she tells people she has given up on men, but secretly Googles pear-shaped diamond rings at 2 o’clock in the morning while listening to emotional songs on repeat”.

4: The romantic:
“We’re all guilty of being a hopeless romantic at one point or another, the thought of having prince charming sweep you off your feet is every girl’s dream but for this girl it’s not a dream, it’s her reality, in fact, she’s the living, breathing Cinderella and she refuses to accept anything less than a fairytale ending”.

5: The Desperado:
“Like the serial dater, she’ll give anyone a chance, but for different reasons, she tends to believe that happiness can only come from being in a relationship and at times, she will do anything to obtain a boyfriend and stay in that relationship, even if it means sacrificing her happiness”.

6: The Free Spirit:
“This girl gives Zero “F”, she does what she wants, when she wants and who she wants, for some onlookers, she appears to be carefree and mysterious but for other, her noncommittal personality can come off as unreliable and unattractive”.

7: The Overlooked:
“She’s educated, attractive, career oriented and fun to be around, yet she’s still single because she’s choosing the wrong guys, she downplays her true worth and settles for those that are just mediocre, she deserves the best but settles for the worst”.

8: The Clock Watcher:
“This single is very meticulous in her dating, she enters relationships with one thing on her mind…marriage and she rarely wastes anytime with men who aren’t ready to put a ring on it”.

9: The Bulldog:
“This girl doesn’t play games, she’s fiercely independent and doesn’t take sh$t from anyone, much like her professional life, she knows what she wants and how she can get it even though her headstrong personality can often be intimidating to men, but if you’re up for a challenge- this girl’s for you”.

Why I Pray For Women Unclad, Shave Their Pubic Hair – Pastor Confesses

Pastor Matthew Olakunle of the Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Itura in Iju town, Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, has said that he prays for women naked because God answers prayers faster without the clothes on.

He said this while admitting to the allegation of praying for the women in the church naked.
A 32-year-old woman, Omotola Akerele had accused the pastor while featuring in a programme on Adaba FM Akure, the Ondo State, of sleeping with her and getting her pregnant during a spiritual cleansing.

She said it was her mother, a member of the church, that introduced her to the pastor when she was battling with a severe cough.
Omotola, who hails from the town narrated that as a result of the sex she had with the pastor, she got pregnant and later aborted the pregnancy without the consent of her husband.

She told the radio station, “I had a severe cough and my mother took me to Pastor Olakunle Mathew for prayer in Iju. After praying for me he said I needed a shaving stick and a handkerchief to perform the spiritual exercise which I took to him.

“The pastor told me that if he wanted to use my hair to perform some spiritual work that would solve my spiritual problem. On the night of that first day we got there, he asked me to put off my clothes in the presence of my mother to pray for me in the mission house.
“Since that day, he has been asking me to come for deliverance and when I got there he would ask me to remove my clothes and lie on the bed. He would lie on me naked and be praying for me.

“On the seventh day, he shaved the hair of my private part and my armpit hair and put the hair in the white handkerchief. After that, we had sexual intercourse and after the intercourse, he asked me to go and bury the hair in the handkerchief.”

Omotola added that she aborted the pregnancy but her husband later got to know about it and sent her out of the house.
However, the pastor explained that Omotola’s case was a spiritual attack and she agreed to undergo the spiritual exercise performed on her in the church.

Olakunle, who said he had been transferred by the C.A.C to another church in Ilorin, Kwara State, however, denied having sexual intercourse with Omotola.

He also denied impregnating her but he confessed to having had sexual relationship with Omotola’s younger sister twice and had prayed for their mother too while being naked.
He said, “On the third day of the spiritual programme, I shaved the hair on her private part and I touched it (her private part) with my penis and I told her to be using my penis to rob the entrance of her private part so that she would discharge.

“After that, I wiped the discharge of her private part with the white handkerchief and I prayed for her using psalm 24.
“After the exercise, I asked her to go and bury the handkerchief in the bush. I asked her to call her husband to do it for her but she refused, that was why I did it for her but I didn’t have sex with her.”
